People often think of fire as a destructive force, and it can be. But fire also rejuvenates the land. Many grasses have evolved root systems that survive fires so they can be renewed, and some trees and other plants have seeds that only germinate after a fire has come through. Plus fires clean out old dead wood and other debris, making it easier for fresh plant life to grow.

It’s like a picture of the tide coming in, somewhere in the Elemental Chaos.

Protect trans and nonbinary lesbians at all costs.

if anyone wants to know why trans and nonbinary lesbians need protecting, just look at this post. It only has a few notes and one of them is someone saying nonbinary people can’t be lesbians.

Trans and nonbinary lesbians are always ignored, always thrown under the bus, and always invalidated. Protect them. At all costs.

Mike Brown jury gets extension, charges for Ferguson officer may be delayed until January
A St. Louis judge has granted an extension to the grand jury that has been tasked with deciding whether to charge a Ferguson police officer in the fatal shooting of teenager Michael Brown. The jury now has until January 7 to decide on an indictment.
St. Louis County Judge Carolyn Whittington made the decision on Tuesday to extend the deadline, St. Louis County Director Paul Fox, reported CNN. The jury’s regular term was set to expire on Wednesday.
The grand jury is to decide whether to charge Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in the death of Michael Brown, a black teenager who was unarmed at the time of the shooting.

There is no way this is not them hoping the furor will die down. There is NO reason for a grand jury to need THIS much time. DO NOT FORGET. Keep up the noise.
